Does speculative fiction affect the future, at all?
Do I have a moral duty to reflect potential futures as accurately as possible, rather than simply selling the sensational?
As a writer of social science fiction set in the near future, these were the questions I was pondering when I wrote this guest-editorial for the British Science Fiction Association’s critical journal, Vector. And now, as I prepare to lead a session on “SF As Activism”, I’ve revisited those thoughts…
