I’m really pleased to be taking part in the Hawkesbury Upton Literature Festival. It’s themed around a sense of place and I’m looking forward to talking about how participatory foresight and applied science fiction can help us imagine, inspire and influence our own local future.
Using many of my applied science fiction projects as the basis for the talk, I’ll especially be talking about the project with Furtherfield to celebrate the 150 year anniversary of Finsbury Park – the project that birthed ‘Long Live the Strawberries of Finsbury Park’ which made it into the Best of British Science Fiction 2022 and is in my latest collection Extracting Humanity.
It’ll be great to see some of you there if you happen to be nearby.
