Back in 2022, I wrote an article for the British Science Fiction Association’s Focus magazine on the future of money. This is a magazine for writers so the article is orientated towards suggesting some potential futures and possible angles to take in a story. It also contains some background info, as I understood it at the time of writing the article.

A few days ago, the UK chancellor announced a consultation by the Treasury and the Bank of England on creating a Central Bank Digital Currency, which one of the aspects I talk about.
